Travellers and those in the travel trade may not fully appreciate the variety of Aboriginal cultures, language groups, and traditional territories that still flourish today in British Columbia. AtBC has developed the online Aboriginal Tourism Expert program with the goal of increasing the knowledge amongst travel trade partners of BC’s Aboriginal tourism experiences.
A better understanding of the rich tapestry of our Fist Nation and Métis cultures will lead to greater confidence in including Aboriginal experiences in touring itineraries and the potential for itineraries to experience several cultures in one visit or for longer stays – increasing sector revenues.
