The K-Days is Edmonton’s biggest summer festival and features everything from live music and midway rides to rodeos, Pow Wows and an amazing array of food.
Festivities are set to kick off on Friday, July 21 at 10 a.m. with the annual parade, running through the heart of downtown this year beginning at 97 St. and Jasper Ave., travelling west down Jasper Ave. to finish at 108 St. This year the parade theme is Canada 150 – celebrating a very significant birthday for Canada.
K-Days Rodeo is the focus of the first weekend, where some of the best cowboys and cowgirls compete for a more than $400,000 purse and a chance to qualify for the Canadian Finals Rodeo in November. Events include Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing and Bull Riding, and entry is included in the K-Days gate admission. Guests can guarantee a seat with an advance ticket purchase, or seating is first come first served when opting-in for tickets on the grounds.
