Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood (WBSTH) today revealed new additions from two of this year’s biggest box-office hits to the Tour’s finale at Stage 48: Script to Screen. Now on display, tour guests can see authentic props and costumes from Crazy Rich Asians and A Star is Born.
As the highest-grossing romantic comedy in a decade, Crazy Rich Asians is the first film by a major Hollywood studio in 25 years to feature an all-Asian cast in a modern setting. The contemporary romantic comedy, based on Kevin Kwan’s bestselling novel, has been a major box-office hit around the world, depicting some of the most glamorous lifestyles in Asia as well as cultural diversity and strong women on the silver screen.
In recreated scenes, guests will get a glimpse into the intricate vision created by production designer Nelson Coates and set decorator Andrew Basemen with a visually stunning exhibit showcasing eight flawless costumes along with authentic props from some of the film’s most memorable scenes.
Fans can immerse themselves into Peik Lin’s (Awkwafina) closet and get a personal look at the Missoni gown worn by Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) and the pant ensemble that Peik Lin wore to Nick Young’s (Henry Golding) cocktail party. The exhibit will also feature the dresses worn by Nick’s mother, Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh), grandmother, Ah Ma (Lisa Lu), the wedding dress worn by Araminta Lee (Sonoya Mizuno) and more, enticing guests to fall in love all over again with the dreamy Singapore wedding scene.
In the Studio’s most recent release, A Star is Born, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga provide a new take on the iconic love story as they fuse their considerable talents to depict the raw, passionate tale of artists Jack and Ally.
WBSTH has recreated the memorable moments and scenes that brought the beauty and heartbreak of their romance to life with the film’s authentic gowns and costumes, including those from the unforgettable scene at The Grammy Awards and Ally’s performance at The Shrine, handwritten lyrics from “I’ll Never Love Again,” the bedazzled guitar from The Bleu Bleu club, and other memorable props.
Guests will now have the chance to step behind the scenes and discover a Hollywood classic in the making with Cooper’s directorial debut and music superstar Gaga in her first leading role in a feature film.
“The iconic pieces and sets from our recent smash hits offer guests an intimate view of these important films,” said Gary Soloff, Director of Marketing, WBSTH. “These additions highlight Warner Bros.’ commitment to providing our guests with an authentic experience that brings them closer to the stories they love on screen.”
With the always evolving exhibits and experiences, WBSTH continues to offer their guests from around the world an intimate look at how Hollywood magic is made. Through behind the scenes tours and exclusive looks at costumes and props used in production, fans can get closer to some of their favorite films and TV shows such as Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Batman, Shameless,Casablanca, Wonder Woman and more.
