Mexico presents more opportunities for Canada

Destination Canada was in Mexico this week with 11 provincial, destination and industry partners to continue to build on 2017’s strong start.

The two-day trip allowed Destination Canada and Canadian industry partners, to develop new and existing relationships, and learn more about the Mexican market through business sessions with in-market trade, media and government.

Mexico is quickly starting to be one of Canada’s fastest growing markets in 2017. Q1 arrivals from Mexico set a new record of 58,384 arrivals, up 31% the same period in 2016.

Meetings were facilitated as discussions between in-market trade and Canadian partners to talk about opportunities, challenges and ways to work together in Mexico.

Canadian partners in Mexico included Alliance de l’industrie touristique du Québec, Destination BC, Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, Niagara Falls Tourism, Tourism Calgary, Tourism Toronto, Tourism Whistler, Hornblower Niagara Cruises, Canadian International Student Services and Muskoka Language International.
