WASHINGTON – U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in rankings and consumer advice, announced additions to its Best Travel Rewards Credit Cards of 2018. To help consumers spend, save and manage their money responsibly, U.S. News evaluates credit cards across 21 categories, including Best Airline Rewards Credit Cards and Best Hotel Rewards Credit Cards.
“If you travel frequently, a travel rewards credit card can help you earn miles or points that you can redeem for free tickets,” said Beverly Harzog, Consumer Finance Analyst and Credit Card Expert at U.S. News. “Not only can you save money with the right credit card, but you can also have a more pleasant travel experience. Some of the best rewards credit cards offer access to airport lounges, priority boarding, in-flight credits and more.”
U.S. News added 12 new cards to the Best Travel Rewards Credit Cards of 2018, including the Uber Visa Card, a new card with a competitive earning rate – 4 percent cash back on dining, 3 percent cash back on hotel and airfare, 2 percent cash back on online purchases and 1 percent cash back on all other purchases with no annual fee.
U.S. News also identified cards for business travelers, including The Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN, Capital One Spark Miles for Business and Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express.
“Choose a business travel rewards credit card that’s the best fit for your company and you’ll save money on travel expenses,” said Harzog. “If you have employees who travel, these credit cards make it easy to track expenses, which makes life a lot easier at tax time.”

- United Explorer Card

- Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card
- IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card
For consumers looking specifically at airlines rewards cards, U.S. News added seven new cards to its Best Airline Rewards Credit Cards. These include:
- Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card
- JetBlue Plus Card
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card
- Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express
- Capital One Spark Miles for Business
- The Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN
For Best Hotel Rewards Credit Cards, U.S. News added three new cards:
- Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card
- The Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN
- The Platinum Card from American Express
