Air Canada launched new international routes to Brisbane and Dublin, along with new transborder routes to San Jose, Chicago, and San Diego. Air Canada has also placed its 787 on its daily Newark flight, to facilitate connections between the critical and high-yielding New York market and its international network to Asia and the South Pacific.
A number of new WestJet services were also introduced, including their first long-haul international service from the West coast to London’s Gatwick Airport, a new transborder service to Orlando and several new domestic routes including Halifax, Hamilton and London (Ontario).
Along with all of our new celebrations and announcement, came an assortment of amazing cakes! We were thrilled to win the anna.aero award for Cake of the Week twice last month, first for WestJet’s London Gatwick service, followed up by our cake for Air Canada’s Brisbane service.
This month will also see Xiamen Airlines start service to Xiamen, China, re-establishing YVR as the clear North America airport leader with service from the most Chinese carriers. Later, this year Air Canada will also launch services to New Delhi, in time for Diwali festivities.
