British Columbia offers a number of excursions that focus on slow progress and the leisurely enjoyment of everything there is to see
There can be a general assumption, when it comes to adventurous breaks in wild and rugged wonderlands, that an active holiday has to be one long surge of adrenaline; a non-stop runaway train of climbing, caving, sky-diving, surfing – and other frenetic pastimes.
British Columbia is proof that this does not have to be the case. While – from the ridgeline of the Rockies in the east to some of the more remote corners of Vancouver Island in the west – Canada’s most westerly province certainly deals in places which fit the description “wild and rugged”, it also knows how to provide excursions which focus more on slow progress and the leisurely enjoyment of everything there is to see. Gentle hikes and undemanding trails can be a key part of the British Columbia travel experience.
