Air Canada announces new direct international flights and expanded service out of Vancouver

On Thursday, Air Canada made a major announcement at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) regarding new direct flights and expanded service.

Starting in the summer of 2018, Air Canada will add direct flights from YVR to both Paris and Zurich.

Along with those new direct flights, Air Canada will also be expanding its service from YVR to London, Melbourne and Delhi.

For the YVR to Melbourne route, that means the flight is now offered all year round and that’s the future plan for the Delhi route as well.

No details on an exact timeline for the addition of these routes was given, but it won’t be until next summer.

These moves, which come with the addition of three Vancouver-based Boeing 787 planes to Air Canada’s fleet, will see $57.6 million in economic input, $29.9 in gross domestic product and 378 full-time jobs added to the B.C. economy.
