Silversea has announced the appointment of Roberto Martinoli as Chief Executive, effective Sept. 19. Martinoli, a Board Member of Silversea sine 2013, becomes CEO after an extensive career in the cruise and shipping industry and will be based in the company’s headquarters in Monaco. He replaces Enzo Visone as CEO.

I am certain that he will be instrumental in pushing Silversea Cruises to consistently deliver unrivalled levels of luxury, service and business performance,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of Silversea Cruises.
American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) is also making news with the appointment of Philippe Chérèque as President, effective immediately. IN this newly created position, Chérèque will continue to oversee the Commercial and Product Technology organizations, which he has successfully led the past two years, and will also assume responsibility for Supplier Relations, Marketing and Consulting.
“Philippe’s new role is part of our larger strategic imperative to restructure our commercial group into regional teams in an effort to better serve our customers,” said Doug Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, American Express Global Business Travel. “We are confident that this structure, under Philippe’s proven guidance, will foster a closer working relationship with our customers offering global reach and local expertise.”
Additionally, with respect to the structure of GBT’s regional sales efforts, Elyes Mrad and David Reimer will continue to lead sales in both the EMEA and APAC regions, respectively, while Philippe will lead sales efforts in the Americas on an interim basis.
