VERNON – October 16, 2015 – SilverStar My1Pass season passholders are receiving an unexpected and welcome perk with a recently announced partnership between SilverStar Mountain Resort and Whistler Blackcomb.
The new benefit gets SilverStar winter 2015-16 alpine season passholders a 25 per cent discount on single-day and multi-day tickets at Whistler Blackcomb with absolutely no blackout dates.
In addition, Okanagan skiers will get the chance to stretch their ski season and their ski dollars well into late May 2016 with Whistler Blackcomb’s extended spring skiing.
“We are continuously looking for new and exciting ways to add value for our Season Passholders,” says Dave Brownlie, President and CEO at Whistler Blackcomb. “The 2015-16 winter season marks an incredible milestone for Whistler Blackcomb with the Resort celebrating its 50th Anniversary. We look forward to welcoming SilverStar passholders this winter so that they can come and experience what skiing and riding in Whistler is all about.”
Whistler Blackcomb is North America’s largest ski resort with over 8,100 acres of varied terrain and a mile-high vertical. It is also consistently named as North America’s #1 ranked overall ski resort.
Connecting with Whistler Blackcomb is the latest in a series of new benefits for SilverStar loyalists. This year, the mountain’s 3,282 acres of skiable terrain was enhanced with a new Race Centre and more than 90 acres of additional expert and intermediate-level tree skiing.
“We’re thrilled to offer this great added value to our passholders,” said Ken Derpak, SilverStar’s managing director. “Partnering with Whistler Blackcomb in their 50th anniversary year is really exciting for us and a fantastic value-add for our guests.”
The array of bonuses the Star’s season passholders receive includes access to 39 free ski days at Powder Alliance member resorts, an exclusive collection of 14 specialty ski resorts known for having the greatest powder stashes in North America. SilverStar was the first Canadian resort to achieve membership in the Powder Alliance. New for this season, Whitewater in Nelson, B.C. joined the Alliance.
“Last Chance” pricing on SilverStar winter season passes is available until October 31st. The mountain is anticipating an alpine opening on November 26th, with the Nordic trails opening earlier on November 12th.
