The Newest Bike-Friendly Resort in the Okanagan offers Way-to-Go-Green Sightseeing Packages

The Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa, known for its great location on Okanagan Lake for water-sports, is rounding out their recreation activities with a new spin, pun intended. On September 22, 2015, the Summerland Resort & Spa will be one of the Okanagan’s most cycle friendly hotels with the recent additions of cruiser bike rentals, custom maps, a tuning and wash station and bike storage area. Guests are sure to love the new bikes and the opportunity to explore the local shoreline trails. The best part of it all is that they can do so at no charge, that’s right, free!

The Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is perfectly situated for the destination cyclist. Whether you are looking for a cruise on one of the complimentary bikes or you are a die-hard cyclists and travel with your bike, there are trails and pathways ready for everyone.

The Cruiser Bikes are available to all guests on a complimentary first-come-first-serve basis along with helmets and bike locks. Summerland and area mountain biking and cycling guides are available at the Resort’s front desk. We encourage guests to discover the new Summerland Lakeshore Pathway opened in September 2015 in Trout Creek.

New for 2016, the Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa will launch their Way-to-Go-Green Sightseeing Package. This package offers guests a self-propelled tour that highlights Summerland’s best experiences by foot, bike and canoe. Included in this package is full day bike rental, a Summerland touring map, and a one-hour canoe rental and breakfast basket delivered to your suite. It’s a zero-carbon way to explore Summerland’s landscapes.

“The Resort is ideally situated as a launch point for people to experience Summerland and Okanagan Lake by a variety of methods. You can paddle the shoreline in the morning when the ducks are out and about. Then take in the boardwalk through the wetlands area by foot and continue for a beachfront stroll. By pedal power, guests are able to tour Lakeshore Drive and the new Lakeshore Pathway to Trout Creek. It makes for a perfectly relaxing, yet adventure-filled day.” says Tom Matthews, Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa General Manager.
