TUI has announced a new route to Calabria, Italy, for summer 2019 operating out of London Gatwick and Manchester airports.
TUI will be the first UK tour operator selling holidays to Calabria.
The destination is located in the ‘toe of the boot’ in southern Italy and flights start in May next year.
They will operate once a week every Saturday from both Gatwick and Manchester airports.
Calabria carries all of the Italian charm and its southerly location brings much warmer climates through the summer season than the rest of the country.
Its food scene and variety of culture offers holidaymakers plenty of traditional experiences and for those that enjoy the beach the region has 500 miles of coastline to explore.
As well as the new flights, TUI will be opening Italy’s first TUI Magic Life hotel.
The building is currently being renovated ready to welcome guests next summer.
Customers can look forward to 24-hour all-inclusive dining and top sports, fitness, wellbeing and entertainment programmes.
The introduction of Calabria follows the summer 2019 launch earlier in the year where TUI announced its ambitious growth plans with more ten and 11-night holidays and extra flights to popular destinations such as Montenegro, Zante, Turkey, Egypt and Mexico.
TUI UK commercial director, Richard Sofer, said: “We are thrilled to be announcing Calabria as a new destination for summer 2019.
“This region is something totally new to the UK market and Italy is already hugely popular with British tourists.
“We are the only tour operator in the UK to offer holidays to Calabria and are proud to be introducing it as a new and exciting destination to both our Gatwick and Manchester portfolio for next summer.”
