Wizz Air has added Marrakesh, Morocco, to its route network, with flights now available from Poland and Lithuania.
Commencing in October 2018, Wizz will offer two winter season services to Marrakesh from Warsaw, Poland and Vilnius, Lithuania.
Seats are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com or via the Wizz mobile application.
Marrakesh is one of the largest and most popular places in Morocco, located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
The city is a colourful holiday destination with its beautiful beaches, traditional markets – souks and exquisite cuisine.
The newly announced destination is the second Moroccan city available in the extensive Wizz’s network now offering 142 destinations to 44 countries across Europe and beyond.
The airline started its operations from Morocco in 2017 from Agadir and offers now seven routes to Morocco from five cities in Hungary, Lithuania and Poland.
Sorina Ratz, acting head of corporate communications at Wizz Air, said: “Today we are thrilled to announce yet another unique destination in the Wizz network.
“We are bringing for the first time the opportunity for our customers in Warsaw and Vilnius to visit the popular city of Marrakesh.”
Since the first flight to Morocco, Wizz’s low fares stimulated the local tourism and hospitality industries carrying more than 75 thousand tourists on its leisure routes.
Rachid Hamzaoui, chief executive of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, said: “We are very pleased about the expanding Wizz Air network in Morocco.
“Together, we have helped to connect Agadir, then Marrakesh starting from next winter, to the most important eastern Europeans capitals, and we are aiming to reach even more outgoing markets with Wizz Air.
“Through this partnership, many international visitors get to experience the variety, enrichment and unique experiences that Morocco provides.”
