The construction of the Costañera Del Pacifico highway in Nicaragua is set to be completed by this month.
The 131 kilometre highway will stretch from the north to the south of Nicaragua’s Pacific coast connecting main tourist areas including San Juan del Sur, El Naranjo, Ostional and Masachapa.
It is anticipated that the project will boost tourism in Nicaragua and improve access to some of the main tourist sites in the destination.
Also in the Central American tourism hotspot, a 1,200 year old archaeological site has been discovered west of the capital of Managua at the site of a pre-Colombian cemetery.
The site was found in June 2017, the area where the new National Baseball Stadium stands and contains pottery, vestiges of burials, ceramic funerary urns, as well as human remains.
The archaeological discovery will help to understand about the behaviour of pre-Hispanic societies.
Finally, a new one-of-a-kind private luxury island resort has now opened in Nicaragua, nestled in the undiscovered part of the Caribbean.
Calala Island features four stunning beachfront suites overlooking the Caribbean Sea and can only welcome ten guests at a time, making it the epitome of tranquillity and solitude.
The resort also boasts a restaurant offering guests a fine-dining experience with dishes made from locally-sourced products, a swimming pool and offers a wide variety of activities.
