Destination International’s highly-regarded Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) training in now available in Canada thanks to an exclusive, newly-formed partnership with Travel Alberta.
Training launches April 3-6, 2018, and continues October 9-12, 2018, in Banff, Alberta as the only sessions currently available across Canada, with additional dates for 2019 expected to be announced later in the year.
The CDME program is the tourism industry’s highest individual educational achievement and focuses on vision, leadership, productivity and the implementation of business strategies. Senior leaders from destination marketing organizations across North America will converge in Banff to develop new skills to thrive in an ever-changing environment.
Travel Alberta initiated the partnership and is coordinating this training to continue to support the professional development of Alberta’s destination marketing organizations, while also offering a cost-effective opportunity for destination marketing organizations outside of Alberta to take part.

Scholarship opportunities
Travel Alberta continues to offer a limited number of scholarships to senior leaders of Alberta-based destination marketing organizations. Interested individuals are invited to complete a scholarship application. The CDME Scholarship Program supports the Travel Alberta goal to increase the competitiveness of the province’s tourism industry and grow tourism revenue to $10B by 2020.
