Cyprus Tourism Organisation records strong November visitor figures

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation has revealed November 2017 was a successful month for both UK and global visitors with year-on-year arrivals up 18.4 per cent and 16.5 per cent respectively.

Last month, the organisation revealed January to October 2017 figures had already exceeded total visitor arrivals in 2016.

From January to November 2017, Cyprus’ global tourist arrivals reached 3,553,149; a 14.7 per cent increase on the same period in 2016.

Of these, there were 1,225,621 UK arrivals from January to November 2017; an 8.3 per cent increase on the previous year.

These strong figures are, in part, due to the Cyprus Tourism Organisation’s successful promotion of its winter sun offering with the month of November alone up 16.5 per cent globally year-on-year (144,676 arrivals) and up 18.4 per cent for the UK market (51,263 arrivals).

Orestis Rossides, UK director of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, said: “We’re delighted to see Cyprus continuing to perform well through the winter and are proud of achieving another record breaking year.”
