UK arrivals drive tourism sector in Mauritius

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority has announced a nine per cent increase in visitor arrivals from the UK market for the first quarter of 2018.

For the period from January-March, the UK growth can be attributed to the widespread refurbishment of many of the island’s products and services.

With 2018 marking Mauritius 50th anniversary of independence, the MTPA is working closely with UK agents and trade partners to raise awareness of the broad range of holiday options that the island has to offer.

In 2018, the tourist board will host its popular regional roadshow event for agents up and down the country and will also host multiple FAM trips throughout the year to further educate agents on the destination.

For the third year running, the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority’s Golf and Spa Day will take place in June 2018.

Trade partners will have the opportunity to network whilst enjoying a great day out as a thank you for their continued support.

For more information on the destination and to access to training modules agents can visit the official website.
